
The Phillies selected shortstop Cornelius Randolph out of Griffin High School (Ga.) with the 10th overall pick in Monday night's draft.
The 18-year-old Randolph will reportedly switch to left field in the pros with the Phillies' top prospect, J.P. Crawford, already expected to be the shortstop of the future.

Randolph is 6-foot1, 190 pounds with the a potential to hit for power and average according to MLB.com. Randolph, who ranked as MLB.com's #19 prospect is a left-handed hitter with good bat speed and patience.
Randolph is currently committed to Clemson should the Phillies be unable to sign him.
