The Phillies' offensive struggles continued Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, as the club managed just one run in a 4-1 loss to the Rockies. The loss completes the Rockies' three-game sweep of the Phillies, and extends the Phillies losing streak to seven games.
The Phillies wasted little time falling behind in this one, as Jerome Williams allowed a two-run home run to Nolan Arenado with one out in the top of the first inning.
The Rockies would strike via the long ball again in the fifth, extending their lead to 4-1 on a two-run homer by DJ LeMahieu on their way to handing the Phillies their seventh straight loss and completing a three-game sweep at Citizens Bank Park.
The seven-game losing streak outdates a May 26 article that was released on CSNPhilly.com with Ruben Amaro Jr. saying of Phillies fans "They don't understand the game. They don't understand the process. There's a process. And they bitch an complain because we don't have a plan."
This leaves me with no other choice than to declare this losing streak The Curse of Ruben Amaro Jr.
NOTES: Some idiot apparently flew a drone over third base during the game.
Up Next: The Phillies will give you a break from this misery on Monday before opening a three-game series with the Reds on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.
