Cole Hamels just can't seem to catch a break.
The veteran lefty was stellar again on Monday night, extending his scoreless streak to 23 2/3 innings, but found himself unable to pick up the win after a blown save by Jonathan Papelbon in the ninth.
Luckily for the Phillies, they were still able to pick up the win, as they erupted for five runs in the 13th inning to take a 6-1 win over the Braves.

Hamels continued to shut down his opponents on the evening, tossing seven scoreless innings, while allowing just five hits and two walks. The lefty continues to be dominant of late, improving his ERA over his past four starts to 0.30.
The one run of support provided to Hamels, courtesy of a solo home run by Ryan Howard in the second inning, appeared as if it would be enough to pick up the win.
Jonathan Papelbon found himself unable to close things out in the ninth, however, allowing an RBI single to Andrelton Simmons as he picked up just his second blown save of the season.
Both teams would go into an offensive lull from there, until the Phillies erupted in the 13th.
A fielding error by the Braves would allow Howard to reach base safely, as Ben Revere came around to score the go-ahead run. The Phillies would tack on four more in the inning, as they topped the Braves 6-1 in 13 innings.
Notes: Tony Gwynn Sr. passed away at the age of 54 on Monday. Tony Gwynn Jr., son of the Hall of Famer, was placed on the bereavement list to mourn his father's passing.
