The Phillies' four-game losing streak came to an end Friday night, as they did to Marlins' ace Jose Fernandez what no team has done for nearly a year.
The offense came alive, as they became the first team to score more than three runs against Fernandez since May 27, 2013, in the 6-3 win.

The Phillies jumped on the Marlins' young ace early, as Marlon Byrd hit a double off the top of the fence in left to bring home Chase Utley in the first. Domonic Brown then singled to score Ryan Howard, but Byrd would be gunned down at the plate for the third out.
The lead would be short-lived, as A.J. Burnett surrendered a two-run home run to Derek Dietrich in the second to tie the game at 2-2.
The Phillies would regain the lead in the third on a bases loaded walk by Howard, before piling on three runs in the fifth.
Jimmy Rollins would start the fifth with a triple to center field and the next four Phillies' batters would all single as the Phillies knocked Fernandez out of the game.
Fernandez was not the only starter who struggled on the night, as Burnett lasted just 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and six walks before being lifted from the game.
In a change of pace from the last few games, the Phillies' bullpen would pitch admirably. Jake Diekman would come on to relieve Burnett with the bases loaded in the fifth and strand those runners as the Phillies emerged from the inning unscathed.
The Marlins would get one more run in the eighth against Antonio Bastardo, but it would make no difference, as the Phillies picked up a 6-3 win.
The Phillies and Marlins will square off again on Saturday night, as Jonathan Pettibone faces Nathan Eovaldi.
Notes: A.J. Burnett was removed from the game with groin soreness. Freddy Galvis was activated from the disabled list prior to the game, with Cesar Hernandez being optioned to Double-A to make room on the roster for the utility man.
