After having it pushed back one day due to heavy rainfall, the Phillies (3-3) are finally set to take the field Tuesday for their Home Opener against the Milwaukee Brewers (4-2).
On the Mound: Kyle Kendrick is set to take the hill for the Phillies in his second start of the 2014 season. Kendrick looked spectacular in his first start on Wednesday against the Rangers. The right-hander tossed seven innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and striking out four. Kendrick would be unable to collect the win however, as Jonathan Papelbon imploded in the ninth to pick up the blown save and the loss.
Kendrick will be opposed by a fellow Kyle and former Phillie, Kyle Lohse. Lohse got off to a strong start this season as well, throwing seven innings, allowing three runs and striking out eight in his season debut last Tuesday. The right-hander would pick up the loss however, as the Brewers fell to the Braves 5-2.
At the Plate: Chase Utley is off to a hot start for the Phillies, as the veteran second baseman has hit .458 through six games. Utley has hit two home runs and three doubles already on the young season on his way to notching six RBIs. Left fielder Domonic Brown is off to a fast start as well, hitting .381 so far on the young season.
Aramis Ramirez leads the Brewers with 11 hits so far this season, as the third baseman has hit .440 with six RBIs through six games. Jonathan Lucroy, Khris Davis and Carlos Gomez have come out of the gate swinging as well, as each has hit .320 or higher so far this season.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m., with all sorts of pregame activities scheduled for the fans. The game will be televised on NBC10 and on the radio at 1210 WPHT and 94 WIP.
