In their return to action following the All-star break, the Sixers took on the Pacers in the Wells Fargo Center. With Michael Carter-Williams and KJ McDaniels being shipped off at the trade deadline, the team that took the court on Friday felt different.

37 total players change teams on Thursday before the 3:00pm NBA trade deadline. There was an explosion of moves throughout the afternoon with many being announced only minutes left on the League's trade clock. And they weren't just no-names that were being moved. Goran Dragic, Kevin Garnett, Brandon Knight, Aaron Afflalo, Isaiah Thomas, Thad Young, and Reggie Jackson all play for a new city
Much like last year when Hinkie dealt Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes, Philly's GM would not let the deadline pass without making a splash. Did you really think Hinkie would just sit on the sideline and watch all the other teams have all the fun without getting involved? The Western-conference leading Warriors (40-9) arrived at the Wells Fargo Center in what what looked like it could be a slaughter. But these young Sixers under Brett Brown, managed to surprise yet again. Even with Michael Carter-Williams out for the third straight game, the 76ers managed to hold the lead for a good part of the first half before the Warriors took over in the 2nd.
If there was ever such a thing as a moral victory this was it. Despite the 89-84 loss that snapped their home win streak at 4, the Sixers played a championship contender close even without their best player. After falling on the road, this time in Boston, the Sixers returned home Saturday to play the Hornets in the second game of their back-to-back. Despite having to compete without Carter-Williams (toe injury) and falling behind by 16 in the 2nd quarter, a pivotal 3rd period put Philly back in front and they would hold onto the lead for their 4th win at home in a row. Final Score: 89-81.
The 76ers journeyed to Atlanta looking to complete their first 3 game winning streak of the season. However that wouldn't be an easy feat against the league-leading Hawks in the midst of an 18 game streak of their own. The Sixers (10-38) had fallen to the Hawks (40-8) in their first two meeting this year and despite taking a late 4th quarter lead, would again be handed a loss. Final Score: 91-85.
