A day after only producing 74 points in loss in Indiana, the Sixers offense "exploded" for 103 points but it wouldn't be enough. Even coming off a 5 game losing streak and playing without all-star Kyle Lowry, the Raptors still managed to defeat the 76ers in Philadelphia. Final Score: TOR 114-PHL 103
The Sixers kept it close for the majority of the game. Two late 2nd quarter three-pointers gave Toronto a 55-49 lead heading into the halftime break. Philadelphia would keep pace until late in the 3rd when the Raptors would close out the quarter on a 14-6 run and build a double-digit lead early in the 4th.
Philadelphia broke the 100 point mark for only the 10th time this season (avg 90.1 ppg) and shot an impressive 53% from the field and hit 8 of 20 attempts from downtown. Unlike Sunday, the Sixers had the ball moving much better and assisted on 32 of 41 made field goals.
Unfortunately, the Sixers defense was not so hot. No one could stop DeMar DeRozan on his way to 35 points. The Raptors limited themselves to 9 turnovers and converted 21 of their 24 free throws.
Both Robert Covington (elbow) and Jason Richardson (wrist) sat out. After waiving Javale McGee over the weekend, Brett Brown had to rely on his bench to provide quality minutes. And they did.
Ish Smith and Thomas Robinson had big impacts in their reserve roles. Smith led the team with 19 points and 9 assists while Robinson added 13 points and 5 rebounds.
Nerlens Noel led Philly starters with 17 points (making all 7 of his shots from the floor) and collected 7 rebounds. Isaiah Canaan recorded 14 points and both Henry Sims and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute contributed 10 in the scoring column.
DeRozan also secured 9 rebounds and dished out 5 assists leading the way for Toronto. Former Sixer, Lou Williams, came off the bench for 21 points and 5 assists while Greivis Vasquez added 12 points and 5 assists of his own while filling in for Lowry.
The Sixers will journey to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder(33-27) on Wednesday.
