The 76ers returned home to the Wells Fargo Center on Monday after a tough west coast swing. Still winless in Philadelphia, the Sixers were handed a golden opportunity to finally pick up a win as a short-handed Cavaliers team came to town.

Without LeBron James and Kyrie Irving due to injuries and Dion Waiters because a pending trade, the Cavaliers would be rely on Kevin Love.

While down big in the 2nd half, Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten would lead the Sixers back into it as a Wroten layup in the final seconds would seal the 95-92 victory.
The Sixers succeeded in many of the facets of the game where they usually struggle. Where Philly usually falls apart in the final quarter, the Sixers made their comeback and scored 34 points in the 4th. The 76ers are dead last in the league in assists per game as well as free throw percentage, but on Monday they recorded 31 assists (19.7 avg) and shot 80% from the charity stripe. Over the weekend, Philadelphia struggled to shoot at even a 42% clip, but against the Cavs they connected on 48% of their attempts from the floor. All of this contributed to their first home win.

After a tight first period, Cleveland stated to pull away in the 2nd quarter and the Sixers entered halftime down 50-37.

A Kevin Love jumper put the Cavs up by 17 (their largest lead) which just under 9 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. A 12-2 Philly run thanks to 2 threes from Robert Covington pulled the Sixers back within 10 and entered the final quarter down 68-60. Two straight drives by Wroten brought the Sixers within 2 points and after a timeout a floater from Wroten tied it up at 88 each with 1:59 left on the clock. It would take yet another Wroten drive through Cleveland's D and a layup with 9 seconds remaining to put Philly up 93-92. The Cavaliers would fail to answer and free throws from Covington would end it.

MCW poured on 18 points and 13 dimes after missing the game against LAC. Carter-Williams also grabbed 6 rebounds and added 2 steals. Wroten scored 20 points and recorded 8 assists off the bench.

Robert Covington (aka RoCo from now on) continued to prove he's got a great outside touch, knocking down 4 of 7 shots from beyond the arc on his way to 16 points. As of Sunday, both Steph Curry and Covington had hit the same amount of three-pointer of their past 15 games (42). In his third straight start, KJ McDaniels snapped back into shape with 12 points, 4 assists and 2 blocks.

Kevin Love did it all for Cleveland, leading all scorers with 28 points and securing 19 rebounds. Tristan Thompson recorded 18 points and 9 boards and Joe Harris scored 16 in a rare start. Philly held the Cavs to only 6 fast break points and 36 points in the paint.

The 76ers (5-28) will play the Bucks (18-17) on Wednesday as they look to pick up their second home win.

In tanking news: the Sixers now have the same amount of wins as the Knicks (5-32) but 5 less losses. Better slow down this winning thing.
