On Friday, the Sixers’ trade with the Kings, in which Sam Hinkie absolutely fleeced Vlade Divac, became official. The Sixers acquired Nik Stauskas, Jason Thompson and Carl Landry, as well as a 2018 protected first-round pick and the option to swap 2016 and 2017 first-round picks in exchange for Arturas Gudaitis and Luka Mitrovic.
Stauskas, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, was less than impressive in his rookie season, averaging just 4.4 points per game and shooting just 36.5 percent.
Landry and Thompson are both veterans who could provide leadership on a young Sixers squad (if they are even kept), but where this deal becomes complete highway robbery on the part of the Sixers is the 2018 pick and right to swap picks in 2016 and 2017.
Sam Hinkie is truly a magician.
